Are You Creating Your Own Energy Monsters?
Simple Practices to Heal Your Auras
Have you ever felt like your energy was leaking, like you’re tired for no obvious reason, or trapped in a loop of the same obsessive thoughts and emotions?
In our book, Kill the Spell, we explore how these experiences often indicate “cracks” or holes in your energetic body, a system described in ancient Hindu teachings as kośas, or energetic sheaths.
Returning to the Source
We draw on this Hindu system because it has been developed and refined over thousands of years. It is essential to recognize that the Hindu model is the only unbroken one describing the human energy system and how it works. This system was built on more than three millennia of rigorous yogic practice.
Unfortunately, for the Western world, this information was modified by the Theosophists in the late 19th century. Writers like Charles Leadbeater and Annie Besant simplified the chakras and the energetic body system into the models many of us see today, such as rainbow-colored charts or rigid, layered auras.
The truth is, these early Western writers weren’t practitioners of the deep breathing or energetic disciplines required to truly feel these systems. They didn’t speak Sanskrit and relied on second-hand interpretations, often projecting their own Victorian ideas onto the work. Because of this, the “modern” Western version is often more of a conceptual map than a lived, embodied experience.
Returning to the original Hindu source provides us with a much clearer, more practical framework for understanding how our subtle bodies actually function and how to care for them.
The Three Main Auras
For this article, we’ll focus on the mental and emotional aura, called manomaya kośa. In the diagram below, you can see the three main kośas of a human being.

- The etheric aura – linked to your vitality and life force.
- The mental/emotional aura – linked to thoughts, beliefs, and feelings.
- The heart field – linked to discernment, deep memory, and intimate coherence.
These auras are meant to protect you and keep both your energy field and physical body healthy. But in our modern world, we are bombarded by technology, social media, constant news, and ambient negativity. Because of this, these auras can develop cracks and holes. When that happens, things can slip in and begin to affect you in ways you may not even recognize.
How We Create Our Own “Monsters”
One of the most common ways we damage our energetic body is through obsessive thoughts and emotions. When we start obsessing over a desire, fear, resentment, or painful memory, these patterns can take on a life of their own.
Over time, they begin to function like independent entities, feeding on our attention and energy. They attach to our mental and emotional aura and start to influence how we think, feel, and even act.

Can you believe it? We create our own monsters. The more attention we give them, the stronger they become.
Step One: Stop Feeding the Monster
So, what can we do? The first step is simple, but not always easy: Stop feeding the monster you created.
This begins with awareness:
- Notice the thoughts you keep looping on.
- Name the obsession: “This is the fear monster.” “This is the resentment monster.”
- Consciously shift your focus away from the obsessive pattern toward something more coherent, loving, or grounded.
This act alone starts to cut off the energetic “food supply” to the thought-forms you’ve been unconsciously energizing. The next step is to restore coherence and healthy circulation in your auras so that these cracks and holes can be repaired.
Easy Ways to Bring Coherence Back into Your Energy Bodies
1. Befriend a Tree and Meditate with It
Trees are extraordinary beings. They’re deeply rooted in the Earth while reaching up to the sky, acting as natural antennas and stabilizers of energy. When you sit with a tree or lean against its trunk, you give your aura a chance to release chaotic energy and sync with the tree’s steady, coherent field.
(We even offer an in-depth Tree class that delves into their spiritual qualities if you’d like to go deeper!)
2. Visit Sacred Sites When You Can
If you have the opportunity, visit a sacred site, such as an ancient menhir, stone circle, cathedral, or natural power spot. Many of these are located on powerful sacred waters and hold high, refined vibrations. Spending time in these places encourages your aura to release distortions and reorganize into a more coherent pattern.
3. Use Energetic Healing Tools
Sometimes, we need extra help to clear what we’ve accumulated. Two of our favorite tools are:
- The De-Impregnator: Designed to clear dense or foreign energies that have become “impregnated” in your field.
- The Anti-Spell Tablet: An ally for dissolving the “spells” we’ve put ourselves under, as well as external attachments.
4. Bring Coherence into Your Space with Sextiskels
Sextiskels are a powerful way to bring coherence into your home, car, or personal space. They help protect you from EMFs, excess electricity, and cell towers, all the technological influences that are the main culprits in creating cracks and holes in your auras. Plus, by changing the energy you are living in, they raise your vibration and bring more coherence to your energetic bodies.
5. Use Meditation to Reframe and Rewire
Meditation is one of the most accessible tools for restoring coherence. It allows you to slow down and observe your “monsters” without feeding them. You can also gently reframe how you relate to your thoughts and emotions. If you want a custom meditation tailored to your needs, I am always happy to create one.
6. Receive Energetic Healings
Sometimes, our systems need direct support from someone who can see and feel what we can’t. We work with two talented healers who specialize in realigning and balancing the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies.
Remember: Your Energy Body Is Not Optional
Your energy system is just as vital to your health as your physical body. You can eat well and sleep enough, but if your aura is full of cracks and your “monsters” are running the show, you will still feel drained.
When you begin to notice your patterns, stop feeding the monsters, and use these coherent tools, you gradually rebuild your strength. From there, life starts to feel very different: clearer, lighter, and much more aligned with who you truly are.
Which of these practices are you most drawn to right now? Try choosing just one to begin with and notice how your energy shifts over the next few days.
